Choose your final ally before starting the ending quest, and preserve a manual save before committing. Romance acceptance is separate from recruiting an ally for the finale.

Prepare the route

  1. During the prologue, complete Anca’s medicine correctly to preserve Esme’s survival route.
  2. For the regular castle invitation, clear the three main Court bosses and check the next-day invitation for A Deal with the Devil. Keep a manual save before starting it.
  3. Complete the ally chains you want to use, then create another save. Watch the time budget instead of assuming an ending conversation restores spent days.

Choose a finale

Show ending triggers and outcomes — major spoilers
  • The Folk Hero: confront and defeat Brencis without an ally.
  • The Patricide: finish Lacra’s chain through Our Rotten Roots, then take Midnight Reckoning and remain loyal to her.
  • The Knyazmaker: finish Crake’s main chain through Who Pulls the Strings, then follow Rise at Dawn and Fall Before Dusk without betraying the alliance.
  • The Turncoat: accept Brencis’s bargain; the hideout betrayal route also requires access obtained through Where Loyalty Lies. Confirm the betrayal at its night-time door interaction.
  • A Hero They Deserve: use the night traversal route west of Coward’s Path Shrine and confirm leaving the valley permanently.
  • Together Forever: remain in Home Sweet Home; after four completed loops, the fifth family conversation resolves the dream route. The linked guide also explains the well exit and the save needed to explore the alternative outcome.
  • Time Runs Out: the 30-day deadline passes before the family rescue.

Inviting defeated Vrakhiri: a separate choice

ATH's invitation guide reports that accepting defeated spirits adds commentary and changes their allegiance in the Anachora finale. Treat its claim that every refusal creates a final enemy as unverified, rather than a rule for every ending. Preserve a save before the post-fight decision if you want to compare outcomes. This spirit choice does not replace completing Lacra's or Crake's quest chain and selecting a finale ally.

Watch the post-credits scene

Keep a pre-ending save, finish your chosen route and let the credits run. Look for PRESENT DAY afterward. ATH's scene guide recommends reloading that save and repeating the conclusion if you missed it. Whether skipping credits suppresses the scene is unverified: ATH's escape articles disagree. Do not restart the campaign solely for this.

Post-credits premise — spoilers

The reported scene shows a wounded vampire receiving delivered blood in a modern apartment, healing, then facing a hovering figure. Character identities and implications for a sequel remain unconfirmed here; this is not an additional playable ending route.

Why do sources count differently?

All Things How lists In the Nick of Time separately; PowerPyx treats it as an achievement overlapping a rescue ending. This guide therefore distinguishes routes from achievements. A trophy count is not a reliable count of distinct endings. See the separate Anca, Lacra and Crake relationship checks.

Romance: check the final response separately

| Route | Relationship checkpoint | | --- | --- | | Anca | Inn conversation after Stronger Than Achilles; accept the relationship. | | Lacra | The Night of Horrors; follow the blood-and-kiss branch. | | Crake | A Closer Look; accept the kiss-back response. |

Use the linked guide if the response is missing. A quest completion notice, skill reward or unlocked vendor does not by itself confirm romance. Likewise, a romantic scene does not replace the separate finale quest and ally-selection checks above.

Side Gate Key: collect first, decide when to enter

ATH identifies Gheorghe, The Rabid Duke at Racovitza’s Bandit Camp as the key holder. Track the named camp, not a nearby haunted-caravan objective. Deal with the accompanying bandits, defeat Gheorghe and loot his body; check for Side Gate Key to Greifberg Castle before leaving.

The reported door is northwest of Vedera Shallows Shrine. Keep a manual save and finish your intended ally preparations before entering: this is a reported early finale access route, not a routine loot room. Holding the key does not require using it immediately. Exact camp coordinates and the alternate entry’s branch behavior remain unverified here; this guide does not promise that a particular ending follows from possession alone.

Escape route: check the gate choice before leaving

A Hero They Deserve — ending spoilers

From Coward’s Path, take the western road at night to the broken crossing. Use the available traversal abilities to reach the far side, then continue west along the snowy canyon toward the open gate. Save manually before approaching it. Select leave the valley forever only when ready to end this run; retain the earlier save to continue exploring afterward. Check the named achievement rather than using the shared post-credits scene as proof of this ending.

ATH recommends Shadow Dweller for reach, but does not establish it as a mandatory unlock. A failed crossing is not proof that you must spend a skill point.

ATH's escape walkthrough describes the gate conversation starting as you approach along the road, without searching for an interaction button on the gate. If the choice has appeared but you want to keep playing, select stay in the valley. If it has not appeared, check that you crossed the broken bridge and followed the exit road, rather than stopping at a different gate. Exact climbing targets remain unverified here; this route is not a confirmed substitute for the Duelist rescue requirement.
