For the Briar Sloughs treasure, obtain the map from the camp chest, then search beneath a large riverside tree in western Maragir Wealds. Bring a shovel and allow one time segment for digging. The map's title is not a reliable instruction to stay inside the region bearing that name.

Check the map name before changing your route

| Document | Follow this route | | --- | --- | | Treasure Map: Briar Sloughs | This page: camp chest, riverbank tree and buried chest. | | Treasure Map: Silver Cache | Finders Keepers: chasm barrel, graveyard route and recess beneath a sloped rock. |

Both searches involve the wider Briar area, but their landmarks are not interchangeable. Read the inventory document and track its journal entry before moving to another dig site. New ATH coordinates and a southward swamp route remain unverified against this page’s riverbank route; they are not a replacement waypoint.

Get the map and track the right activity

  1. Find the camp between Maragir Wealds and St. Tyna's Grove. PowerPyx locates the map in a wooden chest beside a tent. Use Focus to help identify the container.
  2. Open the chest and check the document's name. You want Treasure Map: Briar Sloughs. A different map sends you to a different search area.
  3. Track the corresponding journal activity. Open the drawing from Books & Notes in inventory. Use the search radius to narrow the riverbank, not as the exact position of the buried container.
  4. Go to the large tree by the river in western Maragir Wealds. Check its base for disturbed earth. Deal with nearby hostile creatures before attempting the interaction.
  5. Dig with the shovel, then loot the exposed chest. Check the time-cost prompt first. Revisit the journal and your inventory afterward to confirm the activity and collected items.

If you cannot dig

PowerPyx lists a shovel in the same camp between Maragir Wealds and St. Tyna's Grove. Check the Consumables inventory before making a second journey; shovels can be reused. If you have the tool, move close to the disturbed earth rather than interacting with the trunk or another container.

Which rewards are reliable?

Both ATH and PowerPyx list Mercenary's Ring, but their companion equipment and manual lists disagree. PowerPyx records Vigour Manual; ATH names different manuals. Do not plan a build around receiving one guaranteed book here.

Gamer Guides describes Vigour as a Swordmastery perk that increases health. Its manual makes the perk available to purchase; obtaining a book does not by itself activate the perk. Check the actual book and development tree, then use the skill-unlock guide for the learning process.

Location names need care

ATH calls the destination Boar's Back, whereas PowerPyx places it west of Maragir Wealds. This guide follows the latter river-and-tree route and your tracked search area. A fixed compass bearing from an unspecified starting point is not sufficient to identify the mound.

Camp chest: confirm the document, not the other loot

ATH’s location account describes the wooden chest between the campsite’s tents. Check for Treasure Map: Briar Sloughs rather than using another item as proof that you searched the correct container. This account names Growing Momentum in the buried reward; other accounts name different manuals. The exact book remains unconfirmed, so keep the document and dig checks separate from build planning.
