For Riverbank, take the map from the bandit camp south of Svartrau City, then search beneath a tree on the east bank of the river west of the city. Bring a shovel and budget one time segment for the dig. PowerPyx and ATH report The Kingslayer here, but another database labels the treasure differently; check the actual loot rather than treating every reported item as guaranteed.
Follow the map to the river
- Go to the southern bandit camp. Inspect the containers beside the wooden tent. Use Focus to help distinguish the loose map from ordinary camp loot.
- Pick up Treasure Map: Riverbank. ATH shows a stealing interaction; check the displayed item name before taking it. Read the drawing and track the Riverbank activity in your journal.
- Locate the river west of Svartrau City. PowerPyx places it through the search area. Search its eastern bank, not every stretch of water around the city.
- Check the tree and nearby mound. Look beneath the tree for disturbed ground, with rocks nearby as described by ATH. A search circle narrows the area; its centre is not necessarily the dig point.
- Use the shovel on the ground interaction. Read the time prompt before confirming. Once the container is exposed, open it and collect the contents.
- Check the journal and inventory. Confirm Riverbank is completed and inspect the weapon name if The Kingslayer appeared. Taking a map, digging and equipping a weapon are three separate actions.

If the dig does not appear
Check that you have a shovel and are standing beside the mound rather than the tree trunk or water. A reusable shovel can be kept in your inventory after another treasure hunt. You can find documented tool locations in the Knightly Ring preparation section.
ATH disagrees on whether the Riverbank map is mandatory: its treasure pages say yes, while the newer Kingslayer guide describes digging without it. This walkthrough uses the map-first route to preserve a traceable activity. A missing map alone is therefore not proof that the mound is permanently inaccessible.
What the Kingslayer reward means
The Kingslayer is a legendary greatsword. Gamer Guides records bonuses involving Perfect Block timing, stamina returned from Perfect Block, and reduced stamina costs. It identifies the weapon art as Strikes Of The Cross and notes that displayed stats and prices scale with weapon level.
Check your own weapon card before equipping or comparing it. The ATH examples disagree on damage, DPS and level, so this guide does not use a screenshot's numbers as a universal requirement. For the underlying defensive technique, see blocking and counterattacks.

Other acquisition reports
Silver Trader: both ATH and Gamer Guides list The Kingslayer in Svartrau's silver trader stock. Availability can vary; a visit without the weapon does not establish that it never sells there. Follow the silver trader access guide, then inspect stock and price before buying.
Executive Order: ATH reports a guard drop during the Forge It Anew shard hunt. That fixed drop is not independently established here. Inspect loot if you are already doing the quest, but do not begin a costly detour solely on a promised sword.
Keep the treasure names separate
PowerPyx associates The Kingslayer with Riverbank, while Gamer Guides labels a hidden-chest location Boar's Back. This remains an unresolved source mismatch, not proof of two guaranteed swords. Extra coins, secondary equipment and XP also vary across the ATH reports, so judge completion by the journal and actual loot.
