For Boar's Back, get the map from the bandit camp west of Svartrau City, then follow the dead-end woodland path in the search area. Dig behind the large tree at the end, with a shovel in inventory. PowerPyx records one time segment for this excavation.
Find the map before looking for the tree
- Visit the camp west of the city. Look around the containers behind or beside the wooden tents. PowerPyx describes crates; ATH describes barrels.
- Check the pickup name. Take Treasure Map: Boars Back, then read it and track the matching activity. This is separate from the Riverbank map found south of the city.
- Enter the Boar's Back search area. Locate the dead-end path into the woods rather than searching every tree in the region.
- Follow the path to its large tree. Walk around to the back and inspect the disturbed soil. Focus can help distinguish the ground interaction.
- Dig and collect. Confirm the time prompt with a shovel carried, open the exposed chest, then check the journal and collected items.
No digging prompt?
Check your shovel, then move from the tree trunk to the soil behind it. Being inside the search circle is not the same as standing at the interaction point. For tool locations, see the shovel preparation section.
Band of Claws and conflicting loot
PowerPyx and Gamer Guides associate Band of Claws with this buried treasure. Gamer Guides describes claw-damage and block-related Activation Charge restoration bonuses. Inspect your item's effects before changing your loadout; a block-related bonus is not automatic health regeneration.
ATH's dedicated page instead lists Mercenary's Ring and Counterattack Manual. Another database entry associates a Kingslayer chest with Boar's Back, while PowerPyx places that sword at Riverbank. These differences remain unresolved: no fixed book, sword or coin package is promised.
Finish the activity, then choose the next hunt
Loot the revealed container and check the completed journal entry. ATH claims leaving the region can fail the activity, but that trigger is not independently established here; do not treat a missing search circle alone as proof of permanent failure. Check your journal before deciding to reload.
Continue to Riverbank for its distinct map and riverbank route, or Briar Sloughs for the other tree treasure. Keep the map names separate even when both guides mention trees.
