Use the Ancient Key near Florin to enter the ruins, carry a separate Stone Key for the optional weapon chest, and loot the armor behind the final miniboss. Killing the boss alone is not your inventory check.

Prepare the keys before descending

  1. Continue In the Name of the Father to Florin’s hideout. Collect the Ancient Key from the barrel beside him; killing him is not required to enter.
  2. Fetch the Stone Key from the Cathedral Treasury before the dungeon. The Ancient Key opens the entrance, while the Stone Key opens the optional stone chest.
  3. Unlock the ruins door, collect the map near the beginning, squeeze through the gap and inspect the wall above the sarcophagus.

Weapon detour and return to the main route

  1. Take the left corridors and crouch through the opening. Descend into the lower cave, clear the kobolds and use the Stone Key on the chest for The Hand of Fate.
  2. Squeeze through beside that chest. Search the skeleton below for the Old Key, climb the ladder and unlock the connecting door.
  3. Defeat the Fallen Witch and take the west passage; the east path loops back. Search the intervening rooms, including Florin’s letter and the mural connected to Champion of Old, before following the stairs toward the final chamber.

The Champion of Old: keep the separate key

Before leaving the mural rooms, check for Decrepit Key and the The Champion of Old journal entry. Gamer Guides associates that pickup with this separate shrine quest. Ancient Key, Old Key and Simple Key are not substitutes.

Track the new objective before travelling: Find the key means you have reached a locked shrine without its prerequisite; Find the place from the fresco means follow the search for the depicted site. Reaching the door and searching its inner chamber are separate stages. The precise overland route remains unverified here; do not treat this dungeon's armor chest as the champion's sword reward.

Collect the armor and leave

  1. Defeat the main miniboss. Separate yourself from surrounding enemies when crowded, then refocus on the boss. Search the coffin at the back for Ancient Hero’s Armour.
  2. Inspect the other chamber loot before using the exit crack. Take the Simple Key from the body beyond it and unlock the stairway door back to the earlier rooms.

PowerPyx records completion when the armor is looted; ATH describes a return conversation with a friendly Florin and a castle shortcut. Check your journal after looting, then speak to Florin if he remains available. Deadline claims also conflict. Treat the precise branch conditions as unconfirmed, rather than requiring a living Florin for every armor route.

Check the prompt, not just the key name

| Where you are stuck | Key to check | | --- | --- | | First ruins entrance | Ancient Key | | Optional stone chest | Stone Key | | Door above the skeleton and ladder | Old Key | | Exit stairway after the armor | Simple Key |

ATH additionally reports Ancient Hero’s Ring in the stone chest with The Hand of Fate. That extra drop is not independently confirmed here; inspect the chest contents without treating a missing ring as a failed armor quest.

The same article calls the opening daytime-only, while the existing PowerPyx route allows rooftop entry to the cathedral at night. A locked street door therefore does not prove the Treasury Key is unavailable. Use the linked treasury route before spending time merely to change day periods.
