Ancient Hero's Vambraces are linked to Xanthe’s When Two Dogs… transport activity. Investigate that encounter and check the hand-armour inventory afterward; A Hero’s End concerns a different armour piece.

Track the correct activity

  1. Select When Two Dogs… in the Court or journal and follow its transport investigation objective. The pictured map panel shows the investigation prompt and a three-segment cost.

  2. At the scene, approach the rogues and resolve the conversation. The ATH route documents a response that provokes combat; use the encounter’s dialogue rather than expecting a standalone gear chest at the map marker.

  3. On that combat route, defeat the enemies and inspect the bodies and cargo. PowerPyx also directs players to fight and loot this transport. Gamer Guides locates the vambraces specifically on the fallen transporter's body, so inspect that corpse rather than stopping after looting the rogues.

A reported route without fighting

ATH’s separate quest walkthrough records the reply “I’m Coen of Laslea.” followed by the rogues backing down. If this response is available, it offers a route to try before provoking combat. The source does not establish a universal Infamy threshold, so do not assume every save will produce that result.

After resolving the encounter, follow the goods objective to the body and barrel shown below. Time passing is not the last step: the pictured tracker still asks for the goods to be looted.

Check the equipment afterward

Look for the exact item name under hand armour. A general quest notification is not the same as confirming the item is present. If it is missing, check whether the investigation remains active and whether you left searchable cargo behind.

The source also shows a Sharp Eye Manual pickup. That image alone would not prove receipt of the vambraces, so it is not presented here as the equipment reward.

What is verified and what is pending

The task and map support the three-segment cost. Gamer Guides identifies the vambraces as Legendary Heavy bracers with Swift Claws. Its 45 Armour entry is a level-one baseline: armour, effects and prices scale with item level. Compare your own item card instead of treating that baseline as a guaranteed reward roll. A decree animation should not be your sole completion check.

Before replacing your current bracers, compare the item’s actual inventory description with your build. Use armour proficiency if you need help judging equipment requirements.
