Reach Florin beneath the house north of Svartrau’s West Gate. You can hear him out and continue to A Hero’s End without killing him.

Enter the sanctuary

  1. PowerPyx documents entry through the house balcony. Inside, pass the second room, descend the stairs and find the floor opening.
  2. Drop into the ruins and follow the passage to Florin’s congregation.
  3. Finish the conversation, then collect the Ancient Key before continuing.

Another way to receive the lead

ATH reports a daytime cathedral confession: discuss wrath, envy and gluttony, then request further guidance. If already following the house objective, do not repeat this as a prerequisite. Treasury access is covered separately.

Choose and check the key

Listening permits agreement or refusal; PowerPyx says an initial refusal can be reconsidered. If Florin lives, inspect the barrel on the room’s left. ATH also describes receiving the key through dialogue, so check your inventory first. If killed, his body holds it; that choice removes this living ally.

Continue with A Hero’s End. Sources list different time totals—two versus four segments—so read each current prompt rather than assuming either covers your route.

Ancient Key or castle access?

The Ancient Key above opens the ruins; possessing it does not establish access to Greifberg’s side gate. ATH’s Florin overview places that gate northwest of Vedera Shallows and says agreeing to cooperate supplies entry instructions. The A Hero’s End account instead describes a later return conversation. The exact handoff remains unverified: finish available Florin dialogue and check the current objective before heading to the castle.

The overview also makes confession mandatory, unlike the direct house-entry route documented above. Do not repeat confession just because you already reached Florin another way. Review the ending routes before confirming entry into the final area.
