Get the Scholar's Key from the roadside remains before entering the ruins. In western Rockfalls, the scholar's map leads to the chamber containing the Ring of Quick Strikes. Reaching its door without the key leaves the route unfinished.

Collect the map and key

  1. Find the landslide-damaged cart near Rockfalls Pasture Shrine. Inspect the skeleton beneath it and collect the scholar's belongings, including the map and key.
  2. Check the key in your inventory before following the quest. The pictured Anca tracker is not a prerequisite.

Reach the ruins and handle the guards

  1. From the remains, follow the road north to its end and enter the ruins.
  2. For peaceful passage, check your Song of the Mountain outcome. PowerPyx and Method tie the peaceful dialogue to having allied with the Uriashi. ATH shows a peaceful reply without explaining that gate; do not assume every save has it.

Fighting is the other documented route. Exact combat tactics are unverified here.

Open the sturdy door

  1. Inside, take the right-hand door marked by Open the sturdy door. Interact using the Scholar's Key, then open the container beyond it.

After unlocking, check for Search the inner chamber. The pictured red container is between the two fire bowls. Open it and collect the reward; the objective update only confirms access to the room, not that the ring is already in your inventory.

Check the reward and completion

The documented rewards are Ring of Quick Strikes, Ancient Hero's Talisman, Blasphemous Echo Manual and 250 XP. PowerPyx lists one time segment. Sources disagree on the talisman's rarity, so this guide does not assign it a tier.

Check both your inventory and quest log after looting. Read the manual using the Witchcraft checklist; a book pickup alone does not learn its perk.

Search area, locked door, or hostile guards?

The Scholar's Map gives a yellow search area. Follow the mountain road into that area and look for the stone entrance; the zone itself is not an exact door pin.

If the quest began when you entered the ruins, return to the roadside scholar for the key. Seeing Open the sturdy door in the tracker is not proof that you already possess it.

Extra vases and containers are optional. Skip red-marked possessions to preserve a peaceful visit; collecting everything in the ruins is not a quest requirement.

A later ATH walkthrough claims an unallied visitor can choose “I just want to look around.” PowerPyx and Method instead link peaceful passage to the Uriashi alliance. That unallied option remains unverified here; use the choices actually offered in your save.

Does Ring of Quick Strikes increase attack speed?

The Gamer Guides item entry lists weapon damage, weapon critical chance, weapon critical damage and physical damage reduction. It does not list attack speed. Compare these lines with your equipped ring before deciding whether to replace it; the name alone is not evidence of faster attacks.

ATH additionally claims passive Activation Charge restoration, which the database entry does not support. That effect remains unverified here. This guide also avoids assigning every copy a fixed level or percentage bonus.

Is there another ring at Maragir?

ATH describes an Astral Communion chest at Ancient Circle: East of Maragir as another source. This page has not verified that chest's contents, so it is a location lead rather than a guaranteed duplicate. The key-and-door route above remains the cross-checked acquisition route.

  1. At the Ancient Circle east of Maragir, look for the broken pillar beside the blood-stained rock.
  2. Approach until Astral Communion appears. The reference frame shows an hourglass cost; review your current prompt before confirming.
  3. After the interaction, inspect the resulting container's actual loot list for Ring of Quick Strikes.

The image below verifies the interaction prompt, not the ring reward. An Ancient Circle quest update alone does not confirm the item dropped. Keep the Highland Grave route above as the supported alternative if the container gives different loot.

Ring of Quick Strikes is not the Quick Fighter’s Ring rewarded in The Ring, nor Farkas’s purple-gem quest item. Another ATH article names it in Secret Stash, but that additional drop is not independently established by the compared quest references.
