For Ocha’s hex plan, obtain Andrei’s Ring, return it to her, distract the guard and interact with the window. Taking a different memento does not give the same result.
Enter the hideout and take the ring
- Meet Ocha in Altenmarkt’s tavern, independently or through A Mother’s Plea, and finish the fistfight and conversation.
- At night, use the balcony on the hideout’s south side. Search upstairs with Focus Mode for the ring in the small chest on the desk; avoid going downstairs if preserving the noncombat plan.
- The daytime alternative uses the butcher’s silver-selling dialogue. Ask nearby informants if needed, carry silver and avoid hostile replies during the meeting. Check displayed payments rather than assuming a fixed bribe.
Need silver for the daytime approach?
ATH identifies a Silver Cross in a wall niche southeast of the central-market alley in Svartrau. Search for the niche containing From Life of St. Tobias, then inspect its loot for the cross. The nearby barrel’s Golden Tableware and coins are not substitutes. This is a published search lead, not an independently verified map pin; check the optional silver objective after pickup and keep the silver for the meeting.
Optional investigation: who should you ask?
Track the hideout objective and use Focus Mode around the butcher’s street to locate the Beggar and Katja. Pay the Beggar for his information if following that lead. With Katja, introduce yourself as helping Nora, then ask about Andrei and request advice.
ATH’s investigation guide says both conversations resolve the optional inquiry. If it remains active, check which exchange you left unfinished. Its Katja conversation is described as free, while the memento guide describes a paid tip; check the actual dialogue price. These leads are optional, not a prerequisite for the night entry.
Daytime meeting: reach the ring opportunity
Carry silver, show it to the butcher and continue the trade. During Andrei’s questioning, avoid threats or announcing Ocha’s plan. Let the opening punishment scene finish, offer the silver, explain your unease without mocking him, and acknowledge his skill with the cleaver.
When Andrei leaves, take the ring from the desk opportunity, then finish the trade and leave. Check for Return to Ocha before moving on. If combat has already replaced the meeting, these dialogue steps no longer apply; follow the changed objective or restore your earlier save.
Complete the hex interaction
- Return to Ocha and explicitly offer the ring if you collected several objects. The pendant and cleaver are different mementos.
- If the guard-distraction objective appears, open the pig enclosure beside the house. Once the guard leaves, interact with Andrei’s window to draw the symbol; simply releasing pigs is not the final interaction.
- If you killed Andrei instead, follow the updated meeting objective rather than trying to force the skipped hex steps to appear.
Meet at the river
- Go to the marked place outside the western city exit. If you accept the optional meal, use Focus Mode to find the searchable river spots and collect the three crayfish before continuing the conversation.
Crayfish: two baskets and a net
Accept Ocha’s meal request first and check that Catch some crayfish is active. Search the bank rather than swimming after animals.
- Loot the basket at the base of the wooden fishing structure.
- Follow the bank downstream to another basket. Check the counter after looting.
- Search the muddy shore for an old fishing net on the ground; use Focus Mode to find its interaction.
ATH reports that the third pickup starts the campfire scene automatically. If still short, check the ground-level net instead of searching only baskets. Continue the conversation afterward; collecting the meal does not finish the parent quest.
Ocha’s decision and source differences — spoilers
To encourage returning home, ask whether she misses home, favor homemade food and describe the villagers as caring only for themselves. These three consistent responses avoid relying on conflicting claims about whether two answers are enough.
The sources disagree about the balcony route skipping the hostage stage and about later teacher access. Follow the objectives actually shown and verify Ocha’s later dialogue. Do not treat a vendor or a skipped rescue as guaranteed merely because you used the balcony.
Can she stay in the city or travel instead?
ATH's Ocha branch guide links staying in the city to Andrei dying through the hex, and travelling to killing him directly. It recommends favoring the corresponding topic at the river. These exclusive conditions remain unconfirmed; the other walkthrough does not establish them. Save before dealing with Andrei if comparing outcomes, then check the river dialogue actually available. Choosing a travel-themed reply alone is not proof that the travel ending unlocked.
Finish the river conversation, then return to the Elder if her parent quest is active. The parent reward does not depend on persuading Ocha to return home.
Check the reward after the river conversation
ATH's second walkthrough lists the Broad Swing Manual and The Outcast achievement at quest completion. Finish talking before checking the inventory and platform achievement list. A manual in your bag does not establish that its skill is already learned: inspect its use prompt and the corresponding development screen. Its current tooltip, rather than a published damage percentage, should guide your build.
