Follow Parlita’s southern main road to the pillory, defeat its guards and release Vasil. Plan for three time segments. Before the release conversation, check your form and vampire health: completing the Court activity and keeping the captive alive are separate outcomes.

Locate the pillory and clear its guards

  1. Look for the activity on the southern main road through Parlita. PowerPyx identifies the yellow exclamation marker and the captive as Vasil, whom Coen may have encountered in Someone Needs a Lesson. That earlier meeting is not listed as a required unlock.

  2. Confirm Familiar Face in your journal and approach the guarded pillory. Resolve the confrontation with the soldiers. ATH recommends moving into open ground when the group attacks; the nearby pillory should not pin you against the enemies.

  3. Clear the guards belonging to the encounter, then return to the captive interaction. Do not stop after looting one body. If release is unavailable, check for a surviving encounter guard before assuming a missing key.

Check hunger before the conversation

  1. Save before committing if Vasil’s survival matters to your run. Gamer Guides says Coen can kill him after release while in vampire form. A night-time combat recommendation is therefore not automatically a recommendation for the following conversation.
  2. Check the vampire health bar before talking. PowerPyx’s trophy guide ties involuntary feeding to night-time dialogue at one segment or less, with lower health increasing the chance. Healing before the conversation is a precaution inferred from that mechanism, not a tested guarantee for every Vasil outcome.
  3. Release Vasil and finish the scene. If a voluntary feeding option appears, choosing it is incompatible with keeping him alive. Check his outcome separately from the quest’s completed status.

Feral Hunger is not ordinary feeding

ATH describes a fatal feeding outcome involving Vasil. PowerPyx defines the trophy as losing control and automatically draining someone when dialogue begins; it distinguishes this from normal dialogue choices and combat feeding.

That means the trophy is not established as a reward for every voluntary bite. Its general trigger does not work in human form during the day, according to PowerPyx. This does not establish that every possible daytime Vasil interaction has been verified here.

Testing Feral Hunger separately from the rescue

Keep a separate save if testing this outcome. At night, leave combat with very low vampire health, then initiate a conversation without selecting a feeding option. Verify the automatic drain and achievement; do not count ordinary combat feeding.

ATH presents this as automatic below one segment, whereas PowerPyx describes an increased chance and a trigger when dialogue begins. Do not promise success merely by waiting inside a conversation. If nothing happens, check current health and whether healing restored it, then retry dialogue from a saved state. Avoid using a rescue outcome you want to preserve as an expendable test.

If the quest has not ended

Check the encounter guards, the pillory interaction and the completed conversation in that order. Seeing the marker or winning a fight does not replace releasing the captive. Use healing and supplies for recovery options before dialogue.

This is a separate pillory from Out of Love, whose captive sends you to Vicho. Do not search for that merchant reward to close Familiar Face. Check Bakir’s current progress in the Court menu before deciding on the next activity.
