Solve the inn map, leave with Anca before noon, then use the ruins' right-hand crack and investigate the sealed chamber. Where Old Devils Lie ends before the Font's final choice.

Research and map

  1. After Between the Words, allow a full day—reported as sixteen segments—then return to Anca at Crossroads Inn.
  2. For the lonely religious landmark, inspect the map's middle-right point; for the reflected face, inspect the right-hand point near the river. Return before noon to depart.

Reach and enter the ruins

  1. Follow Anca to the lake, handle enemies and finish her conversation. Follow the river northeast through the cave between its two sections.
  2. At the blocked entrance, move right to the fallen column and squeeze through the wall crack. Inspect every marked part of the entrance painting.
  3. Descend through the metal doors and clear the enemies. Avoid the damaging red vines.

Open the painted door

  1. Use Focus Mode: inspect the stone mortar on the room's left, the broken pot beside it, and the painting on Anca's side. Discuss the trial and pigment, then agree to the painting ritual.
  2. Approach the sealed door after Anca marks Coen. Confirm the journal starts Stronger Than Achilles; the Font decision belongs there.

Conditions and uncertainty

If Anca refuses departure, return another morning. If the chamber stalls, recheck all three objects. Do not abandon her when asked to secure the ruins; Gamer Guides records her death from abandonment or hunger, and termination when leaving to confront Brencis.

Total time is disputed: sources list three, four or five segments. Romance wording is not required to open this door; see Anca romance. The image shows the puzzle interface, not proof that its highlighted point is the answer.
