Track the blood into the hidden cave, then treat the bracer chest and the dead man's memories as separate objectives. Plan the interrogation for daytime: Compel Soul is the relevant Witchcraft action. The equipment route leads through the Riverside Trail / Woodcutters' Camp area of Rockfalls.
Follow the trail instead of the map centre
- Inspect the roadside blood with Focus to start the investigation.
- At the dead hunter, check Boyar Bakir's Hunt. Continue along the tracks toward the rock face.
- Search through the tall ferns against the cliff for the concealed opening. Clear the wolves inside before searching the chamber.
Open the chest and inspect your equipment
- Check the chest beside the campfire at the back for Wolven Bracers and Stitched-Up Clothing. Confirm each named item in inventory.
- Compare the Hands slot before equipping. These are legendary medium bracers with claw damage, animal damage and claw critical modifiers; they do not automatically improve sword attacks.
Gamer Guides identifies its listed armour values as level-one values that scale with item level. Use your current card instead of expecting the same armour or price as a screenshot. Check medium armour proficiency when comparing the loadout.
ATH's equipment roundup says the chest requires Compel Soul, while its dedicated pickup route opens it during investigation. Try the chest separately; this guide does not treat the spell as a verified universal chest prerequisite.
Gather the catalysts before questioning the body
- Sweep the cave with Focus for Blank Parchment, Stitched-Up Clothing and Herbs. The herbs are at the altar; checking only the chest leaves the investigation incomplete.
- During daylight, use Compel Soul on Cave Dweller. Work through the available catalyst choices before leaving the conversation.
- Check the journal's resolution as well as your loot. A bracer pickup is not proof that the dead man's story has been resolved.
If progress stops
At night, return in daylight for the Witchcraft step. If investigation remains active, recheck the altar and the three named catalysts. ATH warns that leaving the spirit conversation early loses memories; avoid choosing the exit while unused catalyst options remain.
The loot screenshot also shows an hourglass beside an investigation objective, so it does not support an entirely free quest. The sources agree on a Skill Point reward but conflict on XP and time cost. Exact XP and elapsed segments remain unconfirmed here; inspect the game's time indicator before committing. Do not convert database time units directly into displayed segments.
