The letter's author is the Silberstein General Trader, south of Silberstein Shrine in Svartrau. Lost Blood needs a second visit after the grieving merchant has had a full in-game day; finding him once does not finish it.

Follow the cart investigation

  1. Start north of Pilgrim’s Trail Shrine in St. Tyna’s Grove. Inspect the wrecked blood cart with Focus Mode, including the broken barrels. Follow the highlighted blood west; the cave is south of the path.
  2. Defeat Murohn inside. ATH describes it disappearing and repositioning: locate it again before committing another attack, and use openings after its swings. The picture identifies the encounter, not a required build or damage threshold.
  3. Collect two separate clues before leaving. Search the monster for Mysterious Ring, then search the cave floor for A Letter From Father and read it. The corpse also carries Phial of Ambrus’s Blood, associated with unlocking Scarlet Shield; drinking it is not a required hand-in step.

Find the father

  1. Visit the general trader in daylight. From Silberstein Shrine, head south to his shop in the city's southeastern area. Start the conversation about the emblem behind him, then explain that the recovered ring bears his family emblem.
  2. Finish the news about his son. The apologetic and defensive responses are reported to lead to the same closure of the shop. Check that the journal now asks you to wait for reopening.

Reopen the shop and finish

  1. Let at least sixteen time segments pass after that conversation. Use Wait at a shrine or other activities that actually advance the clock. Simply walking around is not a dependable timer. Return in daylight and check for the objective “Go back to the merchant.”
  2. Complete the second conversation and ring decision. Admitting you have the ring opens an offer to buy it; denying possession keeps it, according to ATH. The guides report buyback availability, but do not establish a fixed price. Confirm quest completion and the Medicus II Manual reward.

The reference image already shows the return objective during Morning. Noon is therefore a convenient retry time, not a proven mandatory unlock hour. If still waiting, check elapsed time; if the author objective never appeared, revisit the cave's letter rather than another merchant.

What remains uncertain

Sources disagree between two and three active segments and give different XP totals. Those totals remain unconfirmed. One ATH version contradicts its own non-missable label by claiming investigation abandonment and faction hostility can block completion; the exact failure conditions need verification.

Plan the wait alongside other timed activities. For the blood reward's broader context, see Ambrus.
