Follow the roadside evidence south of Shepherd’s Rest, then question the corpse during daylight. Winning the fight does not finish the investigation.
From the road to the body
- Find the arrows and blood south of the shrine in Tantari Woods. Follow the trail southwest.
- If the journal asks for a camp investigation, inspect its fire, bag and damaged tent with Focus Mode. Follow the large footprints afterward.
- Search the trail’s right side near the yellow-stained rock for the severed horn. Continue to the body and defeat the attacking uriashi soldier.
Collect the objects before casting

Gamer Guides names these three catalysts. PowerPyx instead describes a Dead Man’s Sword beside the body; ATH’s longer version lists both sword and scabbard. Their exact label relationship is unconfirmed. Inspect all available scene objects and use the actual catalyst choices, rather than assuming four separate required items.
Finish the interrogation
- In daylight, target the dead man with Compel Soul and work through the available evidence dialogue.
- Check that the investigation resolves in the journal. Its successful account concerns a coded message for the manumits; there is no documented delivery trip required here.
If casting is unavailable, check daylight, combat and missing scene objects in that order. The published time cost is two segments; read the current confirmation before committing. A database ending leaves the investigation unresolved, but its exact expiration trigger is not established here.
