In Dawnwalker Dark-Thing, follow the chimes north of Westridge Outpost, resolve the apparition encounter and inspect the summit glyph. The fight alone does not award the manual.
Reach the upper trail

Head north from Westridge Outpost in Rockfalls. Approaching the windchimes starts the quest; use Focus Mode to identify the trail.

Choose the crossing that suits your current form. PowerPyx documents a left route using Shadowstep and Planeshift at night, and a right route sliding along the wall during the day.

Continue upward toward the scream. Defeat the apparition that attacks near the upper level, then resume following the chimes instead of leaving the mountain.
Speak to the summit travellers
At the camp, introduce yourself as “Just a wanderer.” and explain that the dark-thing is dead. PowerPyx records this peaceful sequence allowing the two uriashi to leave. This is the documented route after the creature is defeated, not a promise that every earlier dialogue state is identical.
Inspect the stone pillar
Approach the glyph and complete the inspection. Both walkthroughs list two time segments, 250 XP and a Ravenous Flock Manual; the journal database also confirms copying the glyph as the successful outcome.
Learn the ability separately
Check the acquired manual and continue with the Ravenous Flock guide. Receiving the book is not the same as purchasing its perk. Use the displayed learning requirements instead of assuming the mountain interaction pays for that too.
If the quest still shows as active
Follow its current objective: the scream leads to the apparition; the summit conversation resolves the travellers; the glyph is the final investigation. Exact boss attack timings and a guaranteed miscellaneous loot list remain unconfirmed. Prepare for the encounter using your current equipment rather than relying on an invented damage threshold.
