Start in the alley below Svartrau’s northeast wall. Inspect the fallen tile, return at night for the roof trail, then investigate both ground clues before entering the house.
Inspect the alley and the fallen tile
- Approach the wall-side alley near the blacksmith. Use Focus Mode to inspect the struggle evidence, then check the ground just south of the wall corner.
- Interact with the outlined roof tile. Looking at its outline alone does not register an inspection; the journal should switch to a roof investigation.
- Wait until night for that next step. Climb the highlighted building with your vrakhiri traversal skills and follow damaged roof sections southwest.
Still investigating the northeast wall?
Before looking for the fallen tile, sweep both the wall face and the debris at its base. The wall investigation guide lists impact damage, torn uniform fabric and a discarded object among the evidence. Inspect the relevant highlights and finish Coen’s observations, then check for the objective to follow the damage. Do not wait for every yellow object in the alley to disappear: unrelated interactable objects are not a reliable completion test.
Roof trail: passing a clue is not inspecting it
On the first roof, use Focus and interact with the broken tiles. Check that the objective changes from investigating the roof to following its tracks. Continue southwest, inspecting the highlighted damage on each roof instead of simply jumping across it.
If the next clue is missing, return to the last inspected patch and scan the adjoining roofs. At the downward claw marks, inspect before descending: ATH identifies Investigate tracks on ground level as the next checkpoint. Follow that marker, then complete the two ground checks below.
Find both clues after descending
- Follow the roof trail to claw marks on a wall and descend there. Inspect the impact mark below rather than dropping into an unrelated courtyard.
- Go north up the stone steps and inspect the smashed fence. Enter the door beside it on the left; the ground investigation should now be complete.
Finish the encounter and questioning
- Defend yourself inside. The initial reply does not avoid Lacra’s attack; continue until combat transitions back to dialogue.
- Question Nish through conversation: hear his account, ask about his treatment, explain your shared opposition to Brencis and your family’s danger, and keep the promises that protect him. Prevent Lacra from killing him to follow the nonviolent questioning route.
Confirm that Song of the Mountain appears. If you are still tracking ground clues, revisit the impact mark and fence instead of repeatedly entering doors. Published deadline claims disagree; the exact failure condition is unconfirmed, so do not treat a missing timer as proof that every later branch can wait indefinitely.
If Nish died before giving directions
ATH records a recovery route: return during the day and use Compel Soul on Nish’s corpse for the village directions. Check whether your journal now asks for another information source before trying it. This branch is source-reported, not tested here; it does not establish that every conflict with Lacra can be reversed.
Follow the directions rather than the old city marker
Nish’s account points west into the mountains and toward a chime. Once Song of the Mountain is active, track that quest instead of repeating the alley investigation. The mountain route separates the meeting and subsequent choices; receiving directions is not the end of Lacra’s storyline.
